The team at Boxing Tasmania wish to advise that the organisers of the Geale vs Quinlan Card have offered Boxing Tasmania Incorporated the opportunity to host an amateur boxing tournament prior to the professional boxing card.

As Boxing Tasmania's ring is being employed for this event, we have decided to take up this very generous offer.

We are very grateful of the offer of Grange Global Promotions for this opportunity and convey our sincere thanks.

Although the promotional poster identifies two of our athletes it is important to identify that, under the rules and regulations of the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA), Boxing Australia Limited (BAL) and Boxing Tasmania Incorporated (BTI) the amateur and professional aspects of the night are individual events.

BTI will abide by the rules and regulations of our governing organisations, and all officials (Referees, Judges, Volunteer Staff and Promoter) will be affiliated with Boxing Australia Limited and Boxing Tasmania Incorporated. The promoter for the amateur tournament is Mr Gavin O’Callaghan.

In accordance with the rules of AIBA, Boxing Australia Limited and Boxing Tasmania Incorporated we stipulate that this is in no way a PRO-AM Tournament.

The amateur tournament will have a limited number of bouts six (6), to showcase Tasmanian talent and we are privileged to display or commitment to the development of boxing within the state, along with our support of anti-bullying and anti-violence practices.

At the conclusion of the amateur tournament there will be a break in events to enable the promoters of the professional card to take control of proceedings.
